👁️ Welcome to Elderfield Guides
Chris Cote × Kwalee's cozy horror farming RPG | Releasing September 10, 2026 (Steam PC) | Free demo available now
Welcome to Elderfield is the cozy-horror farming sim everyone keeps describing as "Stardew Valley meets Welcome to Night Vale." You inherit a small farm in a small town where the abnormal is the normal: corn and pumpkins grow right next to teeth and eyeballs, your livestock includes a cow with tentacles, and opening a trash can is a genuine gamble. Farm, forage, fish, mine, cook, befriend — or marry — the odd townsfolk, investigate daily mysteries, and fight the ancient horrors with turn-based combat. It's the rare cozy game where the dread is the point.

The Hook
Most farming games hand you a field and a hoe. Welcome to Elderfield hands you a field, a hoe, and a town where nothing is quite safe — and then asks you to keep farming anyway. The farming gives the horror a daily rhythm, and the horror gives the farming stakes it otherwise lacks. With a free demo sitting at ~96% positive and a September 10 launch, it's the cozy game the whole "cozy horror" genre has been building toward.
