🏺 Ancient Farm Guides

A2 Softworks' zero-automation farming sim set on the Nile | Released January 8, 2026 | PC (Steam) | "Mixed" (~60% positive)

Ancient Farm (古农庄, 古代农场) is a 3D cozy farming and building sim from Polish studio A2 Softworks. You start on a debris-strewn patch of Nile riverside with a hammer and nothing else, then craft every tool by hand — no automation, no shortcuts. You clear land, till soil, water crops through three Egyptian-named seasons, raise cows, pigs, sheep and oxen, and sell your produce to a merchant who sails in each season. It launched on January 8, 2026 on Steam for PC.

The Hook

Most farming games hand you a watering can and some seeds and point you at a field. Ancient Farm makes you craft the watering can, the hoe, the bucket, and the clay scoop yourself — and only then lets you touch the field. It's Stardew Valley with every convenience stripped out: crops rot if you skip a watering cycle, the Shemu season withers most plants, and the only "automation" in the game is an ox you have to feed, harness, and ride. If you loved the manual grind of early Stardew, this is your farm.
